About Us

SJUCyber is St. John’s University’s Cybersecurity club. We strive to provide our members the best out of class experience when it comes to learning and honing their current technical skills and abilities. We welcome any student who simply wants to learn more and sharpen their current skills.

Studying IT, Cybersecurity or Digital Forensics are all widely diverse and broad majors and so as a club we hope to help students whenever possible as we can relate to the struggles you may face. We understand that what we learn in a classroom or lecture may go over your head, you may forget it or not even understand it. We’re here so you don’t have to worry about not being ready for your next quiz or exam or not even being ready to enter the workforce when you graduate St. John’s University.

As a club, SJUCyber has a lot to offer through our weekly meetings, various events we host or participate in as well as multiple professional connections that includes our alums and industry partners of CPS. During our weekly meetings we host discussions, technical demos and tutoring where as our events include guest speakers and in-house competitions. Other events we participate include Capture the Flag, Cyber Defense Competitions and Hackathons hosted elsewhere around the country. But we can’t ever forget the help our alumni provides through their continuous support!

What We Do

Topics and technology we cover span across Cyber Security, Forensics and even Reverse Engineering!

Each semester we strive to provide them with the best out of class experience we can. We understand that sometimes our classroom education simply isn’t enough, sometimes we need help or a push forward, maybe we want to learn something new so that’s what we’re here for.

Each meeting held we explore a new topic as we present tutorials and technical demos allowing students to get a hands-on approach to concepts and technology they maybe only read about so far. The events we host range from in-house CTF and mock scenarios that put the knowledge and skills students have accumulated in a more practical way. There is also the addition of professional events such as industry networking nights that always end on a good note for everyone.
